Surfplugs™ were developed by Qualified Audiologist and Surfer Rob Shaddick originally as a preventative to his own Surfers Ear problems. Since this time the Surfplugs™ have been summer and winter tested by over 200 surfers in the UK and around the globe.

Surfplugs™ are individually custom moulded to your ears from floating silicone ensuring they lock in place and provide a snug seal, even in the most demanding surf conditions. The high-gloss grip-coat finish avoids water penetration and provides a durable coating to maintain hygiene and prevent infections.

We keep your ear impressions on file with us for three years. In this time you can purchase as many further sets of Surfplugs™ as you like for less than half the cost of a normal set of Surfplugs™ and we’ll send them to you anywhere in the world - useful if the latest budget airline has just lost your luggage.

We hate the 28 day turnaround time that most businesses offer. We turnaround your Surfplugs™ in less than 7 days of receiving your original impressions and less than 48 hours of your request for a remake - and we strive to be even quicker than that!

Surfplugs™ are available in a variety of colours, effects and graphics options and are provided with a safety leash and a storage pouch as standard. They are guaranteed for one year with a life expectancy of up to four years and are EU and CE certified.

Off-the-shelf products:

Off-the-shelf products struggle to recreate the fit of custom products and rely on a ‘best shape fits all’ approach which may work for some but does compromise comfort and water defence.

We advise avoiding earplugs that are marketed as swimming plugs as these are often loose and they are not tested for the harsh conditions associated with surfing. In addition some materials are only designed for pool temperature conditions and will shrink in the cold water during winter surfing.

When the ear canal narrows in conditions such as ‘surfers ear’ then off-the-shelf products do become harder to fit correctly, causing leakage, discomfort, loss of the product and disappointment when in the surf.

''My ears have been free of pain and infection since I've had my Surfplugs - I wish I had known about them sooner!''
