He’s been surfing since he was fifteen - and finally got a job in 1992 with the NHS where he qualified as an audiologist. Rob had already developed surfers ear and, motivated by the terrifying threat of the ear drill, has since developed Surfplugs™. Rob is a member of the British Academy of Audiology, a technician member with the Institute of Acoustics and registered with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists.

Ali has been a qualified audiologist with the NHS since 1990. Sensibly she has always stayed on top the water in boats so doesn’t have surfers ear but does have a whinging husband that does! Ali has been fundamental in the development of Surfplugs™ and runs several surfers ear clinics at surf shops and beaches throughout the Southwest. Ali is a member of the British Academy of Audiology and registered with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists.

In addition to Surfplugs™ we can also offer a range of specialised custom hearing protection for musicians, industry, motor sports, shooting or sleeping. All the products conform to current British safety standards for industry, European Normalisation EN352-2 and carry the CE 121 certification.
